Hats Off to NFTE!

On June 9^th, NFTE was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award (DAA) in the Mathematics category for their curriculum “Entrepreneurship: Owning Your Future” by the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP). The AEP is a non-profit organization that serves the needs of the entire K-12 educational community by connecting with teachers, schools, and businesses to motivate ground-breaking learning solutions for the classroom. Every year, the AEP recognizes the best curricula, periodicals, professional development, and technology & new media.

Written by NFTE Founder Steve Mariotti, the curriculum teaches fundamentals of mathematics as well as comprehensive guide to developing a business plan. It focuses on critical basic business skills including business communications, negotiating, business ethics, social responsibility, time management, and goal setting.

Over the past two decades, more than 280,000 high-risk youth have graduated from NFTE equipped with the fundamentals of becoming financially independent by running their own businesses.  Curriculum like “Entrepreneurship: Owning Your Future” is the first step into teaching  the essentials of small business and entrepreneurial programs that help future business owners to launch, sustain and grow their own businesses. This is a great honor for NFTE, and points us in the right direction for a bright future.
